Sensei K.V.Subramanyan


 

Sensei Subramanyan got introduced to the world of martial arts through his father Shri Karumathil Velukkutty,  an exponent of the ancient Indian martial art of  Kalarippayattu. He took up the study of Judo and Karate from 1969, also relocating to Chennai in India from Sri Lanka.  Later, He went to few European countries Like England, Switzerland, Germany  and later to Japan and trained mainly under Sensei Ohshima, Sensei Asano, Sensei Nagai, Kancho Kanazawa, and other Senior masters.  .



 

He joined  the Shotokan Karate International Federation formed by Kancho Kanazawa ,  founding Shotokan Karate International India in 1982. He also was fascinated by the Internal art of Tai-Chi Chuan, practicing mainly under Sifu Toyo Kobayashi in Germany from 1982. He also encourages and teaches Tai-Chi to his students, believing it helps them in their Karate training. Sensei Subramanyan is a Godan(5th Dan) in SKIF, and currently has classes in many places in South India.



 

Sensei Subramanyan also practices and teaches Yoga, Pranayama, and is a certified master of Kundalini Yoga. :
